History of Domaine Gayda in Brugairolles
Domaine Gayda, founded in 1749 in Brugairolles, near Carcassonne, began its history as a coaching inn for travelers of the time. Horses were refreshed and changed here, while the farm buildings were gradually transformed into luxury accommodation, marking the beginning of a remarkable transformation. In 2004, under the enlightened leadership of owners Tim Ford and Anthony Record, in partnership with talented winemaker Vincent Chansault, the estate took a new turn by modernizing significantly.
On the emblematic site of the“Moscow Tree”, we undertook the construction of a modern winery, gourmet restaurant and an elegant boutique. This tree takes its name from the cadastre of the surrounding vineyards, and was once an essential navigational beacon for “Aéropostale” pioneers such as the famous Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
Domaine Gayda is passionate about traditional Languedoc grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, Macabeu and many more, grown on a variety of soils with unique climatic influences. Our winery, though deeply respectful of tradition, is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology, guaranteeing optimal conditions for vinification and maturation.
