The story goes...
Many years ago the previous owner built the cottage for his ailing wife so they could spend what they thought were their last years in this idyllic setting, surrounded by beautiful vineyards. A dream came true when his wife made a miraculous recovery and hence the cottage became “Villa Mon Rêve” (the house of my dream). This incredible story behind the name also inspired the wine. Finally, after all these years we now believe we have selected an exceptional north facing Syrah that does justice to this uplifting story of “Villa Mon Rêve”.

Millésime 2018:
Sud de France Top 100 + Best Red Trophy
Millésime 2017: The Buyer - David Kermode - 10 Feb. 2021 “(…) With lifted violets, blackcurrant leaf and a savoury, salami note, there’s elegant cedar spice, powdery tannins and a dreamy finish to rival Bridgerton.”
Millésime 2016: 17.5 - Jancis Robinson - May 2021
"A sumptuous swirl of baked plum and vanilla cream, cigar spice and dark chocolate, bitter dried thyme and chicory root. Long and ripe, black pepper vibrating like a fine electric current through the fruit, tannins sculpted into fine arcs. This is the epitome of Minervois brilliance: curving rich, dark and creamy fruit into exquisitely elegant arcs of flavour and structure. Tim Ford's team have a finger on the pulse." (TC)

Tasting notes
The colour is intense, deep garnet with purple hues. This very complex Syrah reveals at first a rich powerful nose, with notes of caramel and black cherry. Secondly an expression of exceptional freshness revealing hints of cedar and flowers. This wine opens to release heady notes of cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla bean and pepper. The palate is marked by exceptional freshness, supple tannins and discreet aromas that reveal the mastery of the maturation process. In total harmony with the nose, the palate also opens with aromas of liquorice, garrigue and fresh blackcurrant. The finish is long and intense, delicate yet gourmand, with aromas of cocoa.
