Villa Mon Rêve 2019

Minervois La Livinière. Syrah 90%, Grenache 10% (13%)

The story goes that the original owner of this single vineyard plot built a stone cottage overlooking the vineyard for his gravely ill wife to see out her days. She made a miraculous recovery and it became known as Villa Mon Rêve, House of my Dream. Fitting that Gayda’s top wine from this excellent North facing vineyard should be named after this landmark. Gorgeous nose of black cherry, mulberry and dark cherry overlaid with layers of rosemary and thyme. A windswept feel from this lofty location and the frequent Tramontane which has brought an extra silkiness, poise and level of refinement, not to mention the limestone soil. So much class, drinkable now but with at least 10 years life ahead. 2023-2032

Altre Cami Grenache Noir 2020

IGP Pays d’Oc (13.5%)

Altre Cami means the other way in Catalan and this is certainly a different style of Grenache from many other Roussillon examples. Close your eyes and you could be forgiven for thinking it was Pinot. Perfumed, fragrant with lovely cranberry and strawberry notes,

touch of peppery spice and extremely elegant tannins. The Gneiss soils of Latour de France have delivered a real fresh, approachable and less alcoholic style but with real class and persistence. 2023-2028
