
The story goes...
We called it “Figure Libre” because we have chosen the freedom of creation and expression, combining the subtleness of the Loire with the bold character of the Languedoc.
Away from the rigours of the appellation, in 2004 we planted the grape varieties which we felt would be the best suited, those most able to reveal the expression and the qualities of our Brugairolles sandstone terroir. Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc, rarely grown in the region, originate from the Loire Valley, home of Winemaker Vincent Chansault.

Tasting notes
Golden colour with reflections of green. A nose that is both floral and fruity with aromas of citrus, acacia, orange blossom and caramelised pineapple. Great complexity, freshness and minerality. Well balanced with a purity of fruit enhanced by its roundness and length, with toasty notes.

Vinification process
Slow and long pressing - Gentle racking - Natural fermentation without sulphur in concrete egg fermenter, stoneware jar and 500L barrels.

Vineyards
At 200m altitude on sandstone in Brugairolles.

Ageing
In concrete egg fermenter, stoneware jar and 500L barrels. No racking off after fermentation. According to the golden number the egg shape keeps the wine in perpetual movement creating roundness while preserving the purity of fruit and freshness. Racking off 2 weeks prior to bottling for settling.
