Press and Awards

Vintage 2019 - Decanter, 3 Feb. 2021, 90 pts - “A deep, rich and concentrated nose here full of black cherries and blackcurrants. It is soft and smooth palate with wonderful depth of fresh raspberry and red cherry flavours accented by balancing acidity to keep freshness and liveliness.(…)”
Vintage 2021 - Jancis Robinson (TC), Oct. 2022 - "As it does every year, this lip-smacking sweet-talker of a wine never fails to charm. Just the right amount of everything: oodles of ripe red fruit, a smacker kiss of spice, a long slow lick of liquorice and minty-oil bitters, plumpy plush tannins and a buzz of acidity. The wine that you simply Cannot Go Wrong With. Seriously, if I was holding a very big party, the Gayda En Passant white and red would be the wines on the tables."
Vintage 2020 - Jancis Robinson (TC), Feb. 2022 - “Gamey at first with a bit of sticky-burnt-plum-jam-pan sweetness. Blackberries on hot tarmac. Syrah leaning in with leather-and-red-lolly lushness. Carignan pushing back with its piles of woody gnarlings and scrubby herbs”.

Tasting notes

Bright and youthful in colour, with an intense red hue and hints of violet. The nose reveals notes of fresh red fruit such as wild raspberry and Mara des Bois strawberries with fresh, tangy notes of gooseberry and blackcurrant syrup. The palate is well-balanced, with supple tannins. It is lined with spices and also offers fruity aromas in harmony with the nose, as well as a finish with surprising aromas of white pepper.

Vinification process

Syrah harvested at full maturity of the fruit to express its richness and associated with Carignan in whole bunches for its bright and lifted fruit.
